| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
Recent research has highlighted English language learners’ attitudes and attitude change through classroom innovations. A detailed investigation is now required. This project will capture learners’ attitudes and map their change to reframe the current approaches towards English language teaching.

| 研究成果の概要 |
英語に関する態度の研究では学習者がネイティブスピーカーに好意的であるのに対して、それ以外の英語話者に対して否定的な態度をとることが分かっている。本研究は質問票およびフォーカス・グループを通じて、英語と英語教育に関する態度に関し詳細な研究を行った。学習者はネイティブスピーカーだけではなくそれ以外の英語話者に関しても好意的な態度を示すと同時に英語教育ではネイティブスピーカーの英語の重要性を主張する等、学習者の複雑な英語及び英語教育に対する態度が明らかになった。

| 研究成果の学術的意義や社会的意義 |
By overcoming the obstacles in the extant studies, this project improved the breadth, depth, and accuracy of the collected data, revealing the complex English language learners’ attitudes in a global context. The findings would be pertinent not only to researchers but also to teachers.
