研究概要

本研究では、北極チャクチ海でピストンコアを採取し、過去15 万年にわたり、有孔虫化石の 炭素・酸素同位体比、全有機炭素量、炭酸塩量、砕屑物由来炭酸塩量の変動を復元し、大陸氷 床量のダイナミックな変動のタイミングと気候変動との関連性に関する知見を得た。過去15 万年間にわたり、有機炭素量と炭酸塩量は調和的にして変動しており、これらの変動が、氷期 ―間氷期と関連した大陸氷床の拡大、縮小のタイミングを記録していることがわかった。
