研究概要

四肢動物のゲノムと核型の進化過程を調べるため、スッポン、シャムワニ、シマヘビ、バラナスオオトカゲ、アフリカツメガエル、ネッタイツメガエルの比較染色体地図を作製した。その結果、四肢動物の祖先核型は、ニワトリのマクロ染色体と相同な10の遺伝連鎖群と多数のマイクロ染色体を保有していたことが推察された。アフリカツメガエルの9組すべての同祖染色体を同定し、2種のツメガエルは、一つの染色体融合と一つの逆位を除いて非常に高い染色体相同性を持つことを明らかにした。また、シマヘビでは、マイクロ染色体の遺伝子のGC含量が高く、染色体サイズ依存的なゲノム構造の区画化は鳥類だけでなく爬虫類にも存在することが判明した。
