研究概要

北陸大規模冬季雷や関東夏季雷に伴う落雷の電気的特性導出のために国内スケールでのELF帯電波観測ネットワークを構築した。現在までに、2つのELF観測点のみによる日本周辺の落雷極性、電荷モーメント別の落雷時空間分布の導出に成功した。電荷モーメント導出では数千kmの空間スケールでは世界初。また、LF帯との併用により1年に渡る統計結果も得た。特に日本海北陸冬季雷及び冬季の太平洋沖にて、落雷電荷モーメントの大きな落雷の多発が確認された。
