研究概要

本研究では、研究代表者が世界に先駆けて立ち上げた骨組織内の多光子励起生体イメージング系を活用して、関節リウマチで骨破壊に関与する破骨細胞の遊走・分化・機能をライブで可視化することに成功し、破骨細胞の骨破壊動態を実体的かつ統合的に解明した。また生体骨イメージング系の改良により、高精度・高感度の可視化法を確立した。また、これらの研究成果を元に、新しい作用機序をもった次世代の骨破壊抑制薬の開発に取り組んだ。
