研究概要

自己貪食空胞性ミオパチー(AVM)は、極めて特徴的な自己貪食空胞を有するまれな筋疾患で、根治療法はなく身体的障害度は重度である。AVM の疾患概念の確立を目指し、AVM 患者の全国実態調査を行った。患者数や臨床実態、治療状況とともに、心筋症が致死性で予後決定因子であることを明らかにした。さらに、生検筋での病理学的検討で、筋細胞で特徴的な自己貪食空胞の蓄積とリソソーム・エンドソーム系の機能亢進を示した。筋変性との関連が示唆され、骨格筋でのオートファジーの解明に新しい知見を得た。
