| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
The outline of this research is to combine the data sets of the WAGASCI detector and the ND280 near detector of the T2K experiment to allow for a measurement of neutrino nucleus interactions more precise than that which could be achieved by any individual detector. Their average energy of the incident neutrinos is different. This allows the neutrino nucleus interactions to be studied as a function of energy and the decoupling of this behaviour from the final extract cross-section.

| 研究実績の概要 |
During the two years of the fellowship, the fellow was able to lead several data taking campaigns for the WAGASCI experiment at J-PARC. In the course of this work the fellow acted as the main detector expert, ensured the smooth operation of the detector during beam operation and data taking and trained PhD students in the various procedures required in order to operate the detector. The fellow also acted as an analysis convener for the detector group advancing the software development and physics measures that could be made with the data collected during detector operations. This work involve chairing the various meetings of the working group and providing input and support for the various PhD students and other researchers working on extracting physics parameter measurements from the collected data sets. This ensured that the hard work and time invested in operating the detector resulted in high impact physics results and publications which could be reported at conferences and published in journals. The significance of the WAGASCI experiment to the T2K experiment will be maximized if the detector and its results can be integrated fully into the main oscillation analysis of T2K. The work by the fellow during this fellowship, harmonizing the software and analysis frameworks so that the data are treated in a unified manner to the other T2K detectors, will allow for future joints measurements. These measurements will have the greatest sensitivity to the physics parameters of interest and hence the greatest impact.
