研究開始時の研究の概要 |
Utilizing large numerical simulations in addition to the GalWCat19 galaxy cluster catalog we propose to study the evolution of galaxies, connection between galaxies and hosting clusters, and constraining cosmological parameters. The proposal is focused on studying the environmental effects on the evolution of galaxies to improve the physical understanding of the current galaxy formation and evolution models; studying the cluster scaling relations; and studying clusters as cosmological objects to constrain cosmological parameters.

研究実績の概要 |
During 2021, I published one paper and submitted 3 papers. I had a visit to the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia (CSIC), Spain, for two months working on the project of correlation function of galaxy clusters and detecting the BAO. I also had a visit to the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, Egypt, for two months working on the project of the BCG stellar mass-cluster mass relation. During my visit to Egypt I participated and organized a cosmology school of the Middle-East and Africa School on Large Galaxy Surveys for Cosmology. Those activities over the sea are also based on the collaborations of my host researcher in Japan.

理由
Currently, I am leading two projects for: (1) Studying The correlation function and Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) of The SDSS-GalWCat19 Galaxy Cluster Catalog. The correlation function is a powerful tool for constraining the cosmological parameters. Utilizing GalWCat19 cluster catalog and the Uchuu N-body simulations, we plan to study correlation function to investigate how the power-law clustering changes with mass on small scales and constrain the cosmological parameters from the BAO signal on large scales. (2) Studying the correlations between properties of the brightest cluster central galaxy (BCG) and cluster masses to understand the environmental effect of the host clusters on the formation and evolution of central galaxies. Utilizing the GalWCat19 cluster catalog and Uchuu, nu2GC, and illustris-TNG simulations, we will study the relationships between the stellar mass of the central galaxy and cluster dynamical mass.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
I am planning to conduct a new project of studying the velocity dispersion profiles of galaxy clusters. An accurate measure of cluster mass is a critical task because all studies on large- and small-scales are strongly dependent on these measures. A large uncertainty in estimating dynamical cluster mass and extracting cosmological information is due to the bias between galaxies and dark matter subhalos. Comparing the velocity distribution of galaxies in clusters with those obtained from N-body and hydrodynamical simulations as well as semi-analytic model allows to understand the physical processes that govern this bias. Once we understand this bias, the cluster dynamical mass can be estimated with high accuracy. The idea is to generate templates of velocity dispersion profiles using simulations and then use these templates to estimate the masses of observed clusters.
