| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
This project's goal is a digital text corpus of Zeami's critical writings, with a focus on his first and most famous text Fushik aden, and their analysis using computational methods. The corpus will include not only transcriptions of historical manuscripts to digitally model their genealogy but also Yoshida Togo's first print publication and Nose Asaji's first annotated edition for an analysis of Zeami's modern reception. A critical evaluation of the results achieved during this fellowship will inform furthe r consideration for building a digital scholarly edition of Fushikaden.

| 研究実績の概要 |
At the end of her research stay at Hosei University, Dr. MacGaughey negotiated with Toppan Publishing to create a digital corpus of Zeami's writings that included Nose Asaji's annotations. This data compliments the manuscript transcriptions of the project. Although an employment opportunity cut research short at the end of her stay, Dr. MacGaughey presented this project at the European Association of Japanese Studies on August 18, 2023, and will use the data to build a digital scholarly edition of Zeami's writings.
