研究概要

パプアニューギニアの小児コホートから熱帯熱及び三日熱マラリアの新規ワクチン候補探索に使用出来る血清試料を得た。また本研究で作製したプロテインアレイは熱帯熱マラリアゲノムの３分の１をカバーする大規模なもので他に類を見ない。更に微量な血清試料で高感度なスクリーニングシステムを確立し、フィールド試料が有効活用可能となった。このシステムでスクリーニングを試行し、1900種類中650種類の熱帯熱マラリア原虫タンパク質に対して抗体が検出できたことより、新規発症阻止ワクチン候補探索の技術基盤が確立したと考えられる。今後、熱帯熱及び三日熱マラリアの新規発症阻止ワクチン候補抗原の探索を実施する予定である。
