有限次元のヒルベルト空間の線形作用素の数域の境界につき、特にシフト作用素の場合につき、代数曲線論的に特異点を用いてその性質を明らかにすることができた。また、クレイン空間の作用素の数域に関しては、関連する行列要素の積がなす領域に関して前進があった。核磁気共鳴装置や分光学への応用の基礎の部分に貢献するものと考える。成果は、１5編の学術論文と１冊の著書の形でまとめて発表した。また、外国での研究集会１回を含む7回の学会発表でも成果を公開した。
