研究概要

今回我々は、ロドプシントランスジェニック（Tg）ウサギを用いて、視細胞変性網膜における錐体ERGのa波の起源を研究した。家兎の硝子体内にCNQXとAPBを注入することによって、視細胞以降の活動を遮断した前後で錐体ERGのa波を記録した。その結果、野生型ウサギでは錐体ERGのa波に占めるOFF型双極細胞の割合は25-55%程度であったが、Tgウサギではこれが50-70%程度と高くなっていた。今回の研究により、視細胞が徐々に変性していく網膜（例えば網膜色素変性）においては、錐体ERGのa波は錐体視細胞よりもOFF型双極細胞の関与がかなり大きくなっていることがわかった。
