This project aims to publish Giovan Battista Strozzi the Elder's entire poetic corpus, by applying the techniques of textual criticism on the surviving manuscripts of his poems.

| 研究実績の概要 |
During the first year of project (2023/4 to 2024/3), I achieved the following results:
-five publications on subjects related to Strozzi the Elder and Renaissance poetry, both in Italian and English, on scholarly journals and faculty bulletins
-organization of the international symposium “La rappresentazione di Dante e della Commedia” (University of Tokyo)
-eight presentations at international colloquia and seminars in Italy and Japan. These presentations focused on the grant-supported research and related topics, and contributed to scholarly discourse, enhancing collaborative opportunities
-archival research in Italian libraries, stemmatic reconstruction and analysis of textual variants: all done according to the project, and crucial for the success of the proposed research.

理由
My current project on the edition of Strozzi's 'Rime' is going very well, exceeding initial expectations. The publication of findings in five articles and their dissemination at eight conferences (plus the one held at the organized symposium) have achieved a wider reach than anticipated. The number of articles published since April 2023 and presentations delivered at public conferences to diverse audiences have significantly surpassed our original projections. Additionally, the symposium organized at the University of Tokyo on June 10th, 2023, was highly successful, catalyzing numerous related projects and collaborative opportunities tied to the main JSPS project.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
This year, I will follow my research plan. I will complete the analysis of the manuscripts and their macrotextual structure, compiling and collating the tables of their contents. Then I will select the "best-book" manuscripts for the edition of Strozzi's 'Rime'. I will conduct archival research in Italian libraries, and present my findings at international conferences in Japan, Italy and France (already planned). I am also preparing several academic articles, some of which already under peer review. Additionally, I am organizing three international symposia at the University of Tokyo on May 25th, November 3rd, and November 16th, focusing on various aspects of Strozzi's 'Rime' and Renaissance poetry. These events aim to deepen knowledge of Strozzi’s poetry and foster new collaborations.
