研究開始時の研究の概要 |
What is the role of rogue planets during solar system formation? Based on computer simulations, this research will identify systems that can explain the outer solar system and the properties of any possible resident planet. These results will also constrain giant-planet formation and migration.
|
研究実績の概要 |
This research has two main goals: (1) What was the influence of rogue planets in originating the orbital structure of the outer solar system? (2) What are the odds that one of these rogue planets survived as a resident planet in the solar system today? The main achievements of last FY2023 are the following: - A detailed analysis of several past studies related to this research’s goals was done. This information is crucial for developing the early solar system’s main model and writing papers during 2024 and beyond. - A model representing the early solar system containing 5-6 giant planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune included) and 1-7 rogue planets was completed. - I prepared the initial conditions and codes necessary to execute the main simulations of the model.

2: おおむね順調に進展している
理由
The main simulations of the model have been running since the beginning of 2024. They are expected to finish in a few months from now. I am also collecting more details about recent studies with results related to this research to keep the analysis up-to-date. As planned, all procedures and achievements of the project are progressing within the expected and without problems.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
After analyzing the simulation data of some of the main simulations, I intend to summarize the first preliminary results of this project during the second semester of 2024. The plan is to present these results in national (and international, if possible) meetings and one short peer-reviewed paper during FY2024. The preparation and writing of this paper will take a few months during the late 2024 and early 2025 period. All main simulations are expected to be finished by the end of 2024. More detailed analyses are expected to occur in 2025. The complete achievements of goals (1) and (2) will be obtained in FY2025, as planned.
