| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are major causes of polymicrobial infections that often lead to poor prognosis and difficult therapeutic management. The interactions between these bacteria have been suggested, but it is unclear how they regulate each other growth and virulence. Based on the evidence of extracellular vesicle-mediated RNA transfer, this study aims to uncover interbacterial gene regulation by RNA interference. The results will provide new insights into RNAi mechanism across bacterial species and lead to new therapeutic strategies for polymicrobial infections.
