研究開始時の研究の概要 |

It will show that Syriac Studies in Japan has influenced and been influenced by various academic, religious and political trends in the 19th and 20th centuries.

研究実績の概要 |
Academic year 2023 focused on the acquisition of materials pertaining to the project which will aid in preparing publications in year two and three of the project. I also conducted an extensive research trip to the UK which included undertaking additional training, archival research, and meetings with experts in the field.
In academic year 2023, one article related to the project was published - a bibliography of Chinese and Japanese publications on Syriac Christianity between 2019 and 2022. This was co-authored by Mariana Zorkina (Zurich University) and was published in Hugoye: Journal of Syriac Studies. The bibliography is of potential use to those engaged in Syriac Studies outside of Asia.

3: やや遅れている
理由
The project is going well, but has been slightly delayed (in terms of the amount of archival research that I have been able to conduct) due to work on other projects being undertaken by the Principal Researcher.
|
今後の研究の推進方策 |
I plan to continue with the plan outlined in the original application by preparing two articles this academic year and working on the monograph related to the project.
I also plan to undertake additional archival research in Europe and to undertake speaking engagements related to the project at conferences and workshops.
