| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
The research investigates data-related legislation in Japan, Mexico, and Brazil to identify issues and develop minimum standards for data protection. Field research and literature review will be conducted, and the impact will be analyzed from the methodology of comparative law.

| 研究実績の概要 |
I revised my book chapter on the intersection of public law and trade secrets, now scheduled for publication in 2025. Additionally, I authored a new book chapter examining pharmaceuticals and data protection in Brazil, still unscheduled. Within the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), I led the development of a global webinar series on trade secrets and actively participated in several LESI discussions advocating for harmonized trade secret protections. Furthermore, as chair of the Free Trade Agreement committee at the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), I finalized and distributed a survey on data protection involving biologics and am currently compiling and analyzing the findings.

理由
I have been able to do my field trip to Brazil and joined Fundacao Getulio Vargas, Rio de Janeiro (FGV-RJ) as a visiting scholar. However, I still have been unable to organize a trip to Mexico due to scheduling conflicts, both on my end and with potential hosts. Despite these setbacks, I was able to proceed with my comparative research on trade secrets within the scope of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI). I am also hopeful to arrange a trip to Mexico within the current academic year to advance my research on data protection frameworks in Latin America.

In the upcoming academic year, I plan to advance my research on the protection of data in Latin America. This includes a field research trip to
Mexico, where I will meet with legal experts and gather first-hand information on their effective instruments of protection. Additionally, I aim
to publish at least one article focusing on Brazil’s data protection laws and their intersection with public law and national security. These
activities will enhance the comparative analysis and contribute to developing robust data protection standards in the region.
