| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
I study how health policies affect the process of accumulation of abilities and health and, as a result, how they affect intergenerational persistence in health and income. I explore the role of each channel and analyze the importance of family background.

| 研究実績の概要 |
During this FY a lot of work for this project has been done: the dataset was created from the raw data, cleaned, merged with other auxiliary datasets, and now we calculate all the necessary statistics for the project motivation and model estimation. A research assistant was found an hired. We reviewed existing literature, constructed the model, and started programming of the model. During the process we had to perform a lot of data checks, to decide on the best way to construct elements of the model and literature checks, to see how other researchers model the same things. We also talked to a lot of researchers from the field on the best implementation of some model elements.

理由
There was a lot of preliminary work done before the start of the project: building a toy model and making sure that it works, getting access to the dataset, learning to work with it. I was lucky in hiring a Research Assistant within the first 3 months from the start of the project. During the year both me, and my research assistant were highly involved in the project.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
Next FY we plan to finish programming the model, calculating all the necessary statistics from the data and estimating the model and running counterfactual experiments. We also plan to write the first draft of the paper and send it for conference presentations.
