研究開始時の研究の概要

During lactation period, plasma cells (PCs) are transferred from small intestine to mammary gland and actively joined to humoral immunity, however their phenotype, function, and localization are seemed to differ. This study aims to visualize the full spectrum of PCs phenotypes, functionality, and characteristics in mouse small intestine lamina propria and mammary gland during lactation period by performing single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq). The results obtained from single cells analysis may help to adopt novel strategy for mucosal vaccine design as well as boosting the maternal immunity.
