Dr Bhaskar is actively involved in clinical research with Japanese collaborators at the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Centre. Data from the Osaka’s National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center (NCVC) Stroke registry was used in the current study. NCVC Stroke registry is a single-center registry of more than 5500 consecutive patients with AIS, intracerebral hemorrhage, and transient ischemic attack (TIA) who are emergently managed in the stroke care unit in the NCVC, a flagship stroke center in Suita, Japan. The inclusion criteria are as follows: (a) acute ischaemic stroke patients receiving intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) and/or endovascular thrombectomy (EVT), (b) hemispheric stroke, (c) patients aged 18 years or above, (d) availability of pre-intervention T2 FLAIR MRI to assess WML volume in different regions of the brain. In the WFN SG ADCD 2024, Biennial meeting of World Federation of Neurology, Dr. Bhaskar gave a talk about his recent progress, entitled ‘Clinical and Imaging aspects of SVD and Dementia’. Some papers are being submitted to international peer-reviewed journals with Dr Bhaskar as a co-author. Dr. Bhaskar is one of the authors of a recent paper published in Journal of Stroke, entitiled 'Pupillometer-Based Neurological Pupil Index Differential: A Potential Predictor of Post-Stroke Delirium'. This paper reported usefulness of pupillometer in neurological assessment in the acute phase of stroke.
