研究課題
挑戦的萌芽研究
本研究では宮城県及び海外の三つの地域の再定住の経緯について検証した。結果としては、津波被災地の場合はどの国においても低い土地から高台への移転又は海岸から遠くに再定住させることは津波に強い地域づくりの一つの方策である事が判明した。住民参加型の地域づくりは，津波に強い地域社会の構築を成功に導く鍵である。社会文化的側面，例えば，被災住民の津波に対する経験と認知，また，慣習や信仰といった側面は地域づくりの過程で考察すべき極めて重要な要素である。再定住政策は被災住民の職業と関連がある。再定住先が，就業機会や所得水準といった経済的背景を考慮したものでなければ，その政策は住民に受け入れられないだろう。
