| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
The project focuses on human-nature relationships along urbanization gradients in Japan and Benin. The methodological approaches include (i) analysis of spatio-temporal changes in agricultural landscapes (ii) evaluation of trade-offs/synergies among landscape functions; (iii) examination of the impact of urbanization on carbon storage; and (iv) clarification of mechanisms shaping biocultural diversity along the rural-urban gradients. The findings will inform adaptive policies and management strategies for enhanced biodiversity conservation and human well-being in dynamic environments.
