This research adopts the LAMMPS to model molecular rocks and compute the biaxial friction experiments. Models with single asperity, a pair of asperities or a cluster of gouge materials under different geometries, space distributions and experiment conditions will be modeled respectively to quantify the rock wear mechanisms. And meanwhile, their links to friction evolution will also be clarified.Then,3D fractal models are to be built to statistically quantify the whole wear processes and friction evolution in realistic cases where repeated wear of asperities and fault gouge concurrently occur.
