研究成果の概要

太陽以外の恒星をまわる惑星（系外惑星という）が次々と発見されている。最近になって、地球の直径の倍程度の惑星（スーパーアースという）が最も多いことが明らかになった。観測された質量と直径の関係から、それが単に地球を大きくしたものではなく、分厚い大気を持つ可能性が高いことがわかる。そこで本研究課題では、惑星の母体である原始惑星系円盤から大気が形成される過程を理論的に調べた。結果として、分厚い大気を持つスーパーアースが形成される条件を明らかにした。
