研究成果の概要

不連続面破壊の物理過程、なかんずく動力学的プロセスの詳細に関し、理論解析、数値計算、動的破壊実験の手法を複合的に組み合わせて追究するとともに、不連続面破壊に伴い発生しうる自然災害、構造物被害の定量的評価などを試みた。縦ずれ断層面の上盤側と下盤側で観測される地震動が大きく異なる物理的根拠につき応用力学的手法も組み入れて考察し、その一端を解析的かつ実験的に明らかにしたことが研究成果の一例として挙げられる。
