研究成果の概要

翻訳を取り入れた外国語教育を提唱する導入する意義と妥当性を検証することを目的とした。大学生からデータを収集してコーパスを構築し、その翻訳能力の発達過程を探ることで、学習者が作成した英文の自動評価法を構築した。これにより、学習者の言語知識や言語運用における問題点の検出が可能となった。また、機械翻訳システムが英語学習者の英文読解に与える影響を分析した結果、機械翻訳システムの使用が、学習者にとって有益であることが明らかになった。さらに、翻訳データを分析することで、日本人学習者にどのようなタイプのミスが多いのかを統計的に明示できる可能性を示した。
