| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
As migrant and refugee populations in Japan grow and organize, they are also becoming politically mobilized. This project reconceptualizes migration not just as movement driven by hardship, but as active, goal-oriented collectivities. Drawing on preliminary Kaken-funded research, we compare seven field sites showing various forms of engagement, from visible social movements to everyday “micro-politics.” Crucially, the project includes native scholars with close ties to migrant communities to better understand how these groups mobilize toward political action.
