In this research, I will test the effects of regional socially related macro-level factors on firm-level workforce information disclosure and the economic consequences of workforce information disclosure. Also, I aim to clarify the novel mechanisms behind the relations between socially related factors and workforce information disclosure. This research will be an important extension of the current literature on the determinants of corporate disclosure of non-financial information. Moreover, it holds practical and political implications for various stakeholders.
