| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
Patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) often develop diastolic dysfunction, which is an inability for the heart to adequately relax. This diastolic dysfunction can lead to heart failure. In this project I will utilise a novel rat model of HCM to help better understand the mechanisms that drive diastolic dysfunction, in addition to testing a novel and rapidly translatable therapeutic strategy. It is hoped that this research project will enhance our understanding of diastolic dysfunction and ultimately prevent heart failure development in HCM.
