研究開始時の研究の概要 |
This research introduces a development framework for multimodal vision-based soft sensors, that incorporate both vision and tactile perception (or visuotactile). This framework includes a novel hardware solution utilizing cross-polarization configuration (Vi2TaC), where two polarizers (one embedded in the soft transparent skin) are aligned back-to-back. By adjusting the orientation of one polarizer 90 degrees relative to the other (see Fig. 1), the visibility of the external world to the camera can be turned on and off, i.e., switching between vision and tactile domain.
