| 研究開始時の研究の概要 |
This study investigates why the Actinobacteria acI lineage is highly diverse and successful in freshwater, and what determines their different culturability according to subgroups. To achieve the research goal, first I will perform comparative genomics and metabolic pathway analysis of acI to define genomic features associated with their culturability. Then I will attempt to isolate previously uncultured acI subgroups from Japanese lakes and test for their metabolic dependencies and auxotrophy, and integrate genomic and experimental data to propose an adaptive evolutionary hypothesis.
