研究成果の概要

水田に、本研究で開発した水蒸気安定同位体比連続計測システムおよび自動降水サンプラーを導入し、水蒸気や降水、水田湛水等の同位体比の高頻度連続観測を3年間にわたって行った。その結果に基づき、蒸発散・蒸散・蒸発の同位体比をそれぞれ求め、水田上での蒸散寄与率を導いたところ、葉面積指数と蒸散寄与率に良い相関があることを発見した。これまでの研究報告では、20%から90%と非常に大きな不確実性を示していた、全球陸域の蒸発散量に対する植生からの蒸散量の寄与について、これまでに出版された60以上の観測に基づく論文を精査し、葉面積指数との関係性を導いた上で、57%±7%であると定量化できた。
