研究成果の概要

本研究は、粒子で安定化されたエマルションのような、粒子が吸着した軟らかい界面の物理特性を制御する方法を確立することを目的とする。具体的には、粒子の物理的性質(大きさ、疎水性、電荷等)およびパッキング特性(パッキング密度、膜中での流動性)が気・水界面のような軟らかい界面の特性を決定づけるうえでどのような役割を果たすのかを見出す。気・水溶液界面における単層粒子膜の堅さは、粒子サイズ、疎水性、パッキング密度に加えて、粒子を物理的に結合させる添加剤を加えることにより制御できることが明らかになった。本研究で得られる結果は、生物学的応用およびナノテクノロジー分野における応用に役立つと期待される。
