We will apply the new platform named SMART (Single Molecule Assay on Ribonucleic Acid by Translated Product) that combines cell-free protein synthesis, in vitro selection by mRNA display technique, next-generation sequencing, and bioinformatics, to efficiently evolve oxidases that are stable under the harsh chemical conditions requiring measurement of D-amino acids in blood and urine samples, and under high concentration of hydrogen peroxide during industrial oxidation reactions.
