研究概要

本年度の成果を以下にまとめた.
1.衛星海色データを用いて高緯度海域における植物プランクトン群集の機能別分類手法の開発を行った.光吸収係数および散乱係数の両方を用いたモデルを作成し,Size Indexを定義した。Size Indexとクロロフィルa濃度についてベーリング海陸棚域およびチャクチ海陸棚域でその平均的季節特性を解析し、実際に海色衛星Aquaで収集されたMODIS画像へ応用した。両海域でSize Index、クロロフィルa濃度ともに、5月、9月にピークをとり、春季・秋季ブルーム時に大型群集が増加するといった一般的な傾向を示した。
2.昨年度作成した海洋版の1次元乱流境界層モデル(MYNNモデル)を組み込んだ海洋モデルを用いて、台風が移動するときの海洋の応答(湧昇と混合及びこれを反映した海面水温の低下)の水深の違いに対する依存性を調べた。
3.台湾北東海域では黒潮流軸が頻繁に陸棚上に乗り上げることにより大量の栄養塩が東シナ海へ輸送されている。今年度は、台湾北東海域の黒潮を観測している遠距離海洋レーダのデータの処理方法の改良を行い、そのデータを使い台湾北東海域の黒潮流軸の時空間変動特性について調べた。解析の結果、台湾北東海域の黒潮の変動は30日以上の周期と11-14日周期が卓越していることと、それらの変動要因を明らかにした。
4.台風による基礎生産量の増加解析に、これまでの1997～2007年のデータセットに続いて、2008年データの解析を加えた。
