研究概要

細胞内寄生性を示すリステリア属細菌と抗酸菌のマクロファージ内増殖に関わる病原因子が感染宿主のサイトカイン応答を誘導する機序を解析した。リステリア属の膜傷害タンパクはカルパインやカスパーゼ1の活性化をマクロファージに誘導してIL-1α,IL-1β、IL-18などのサイトカイン成熟分泌を起こすこと、抗酸菌のRD1領域も同様の活性を示すことが明らかとなり、細胞内寄生に関わる病原因子が宿主サイトカイン応答に重要な役割を示すことを明確にした。
