研究概要	癌遺伝子及び癌関連遺伝子に関する研究において、ヒトプロト型ras遺伝子をマウスに導入すると、体細胞突然変異がおこり腫瘍が発生することが分かった。また活性型myc遺伝子によるリンパ腫の発生において、第2の遺伝的変化として第4番染色体の欠失が指摘された。TL抗原遺伝子導入マウスにおいては、CD4ーCD8のT細胞集団が増加し、この中からγδのT細胞リセプターを持つものが腫瘍化した。ウイルスによる発癌機構の研究において、B型肝炎ウイルス産生マウスが樹立された。また、ヒトT細胞白血病ウイルスのpX遺伝子導入により胸腺萎縮にもとずく免疫不全と、その結果と考えられる種々の腫瘍が観察された。また、免疫グロブリン産生細胞において2種類のRNAが産生された時2つのRNA間でトランススプライシングがおこり新しい免疫グロブリンのクラスが産生されうることが示された。癌化に及ぼす遺伝子背景に関する研究において、C3Hの背景では活性化myc遺伝子によりT細胞腫が好発することが明らかとなった。種々の腫瘍発生への影響を見るため、ヒト主要組織適合抗原クラスII遺伝子を導入したマウスが作出された。発癌物質に対する処理能力がどの程度発癌を抑制しうるかを検討するためメチル基転移酵素を多量に産生するマウスが作製された。相同遺伝子組み換え技術を開発するための実験が開始された。過去に実績のある胚幹細胞が入手され、またその分化を抑え増殖させるのに有効と考えられるLIFの遺伝子も入手され、その多量産生も可能となった。組み換え頻度を上昇させる試みも必要であるが、この点に関しマウス第17番染色体上の染色体組み換えのホットスポットの存在が明らかになり今後の進展が期待された。
