研究概要

本年度は平成2年11月15日〜17日に京都平安会館で班会議をもち、研究成果の発表と討論を行なった。総研の2年次にあたるので、広い範囲の課題に対して徹底的な議論を行ない、生体機能の物理化学的側面を明確化するよう努めた。また、20名を越える班員外の若い研究者にも班会議に参加していただき、研究体制における世代間の継承性にも配慮した。
今年度に得られた研究成果のいくつかは以下の通りである。
1.電子移動反応における適切な反応座標を定義し、それに基づき、環境が非線形分極応答する場合に成り立つエネルギ-・ギャップ則を求めた。
2.色覚色素アイオドプシンの光異性化と緩和の過程とダイナミクスを明らかにした。
3.紅色光合成細菌のアンテナ系におけるエネルギ-転移過程の詳しい解析を行なった。
4.高等植物の光化学系IIの熱発光のBバンドとZバンドの発光スペクトルの測定に成功した。
5.光化学系Iの反応中心で電子受容体として働くキノン(ビタミンKー1)を分子構造及び酸化還元電位の異なる他のキノンに置きかえた系を作り、結合定数の変化および電子移動速度の変化を測定した。
6.バクテリオクロロフィルのT_1状態の共鳴ラマン散乱スペクトルの測定に成功した。
7.アイオドプシンの1次構造を決定した。
本年度の班会議では、在日中のEbrey教授(イリノイ大学)に“Structure of Bacteriorhodopsin and Mechanism of Its Function"という題で講演していただき、熱心な討論を行ない、日米間の研究交流に役立てた。
