研究概要

地球大気環境問題解明への一つの鍵は、地上から超高層までの大気圏全体を一つのシステムとしてとらえることにある。中層大気(高度10〜100km)は長らく「未知圏」と呼ばれてきたが、MAP(中層大気国際協同観測;1982〜85)以来の新しい観測手段による知識の拡充で我々の理解は飛躍的に深まった。本研究ではその次の段階として、超高層(高度100〜1000km)および下層(0〜10km)の大気と中層大気との相互の関連を明らかにするための基礎を確立することを目的としており、これに続くSTEP(太陽地球系エネルギ-国際協同研究;1991〜95)での本格的研究の土台となることを目指す。
初年度である本年度は、超高層大気中の電磁気的諸現象あるいは地・海表面付近の熱的・力学的・化学的諸現象が中層大気にもたらす様々の作用(フォ-シング)を議論し、さらにこれに対する中層大気のレスポンスを明らかにするため、分担者間の情報交換ならびに研究打合せを積極的に行なった。その結果は以下の通りである。
(1)下層大気から中層大気へのフォ-シングの実態:MUレ-ダ-・RASS・ラジオゾンデ観測結果を統計的に解析し、特に各種大気波動の実態について気候学的知見と今後の研究方針とを得た。
(2)超高層大気から中層大気へのフォ-シングの可能性:MUレ-ダ-・アイオノゾンデ観測結果を基に今後の研究方針を探った。
(3)中層大気の力学的・化学的レスポンスの実態*レ-ザ-レ-ダ-・衛星観測結果ならびに既存理論を集的し、モデリングの基礎と今後の研究方針とを確立した。
以上、本年度に確立した研究方針に従って、次年度(最終年度)においては予備的研究と具体的成果を得、STEPの本皮的研究へ撃げる予定である。
