研究概要	全班員による研究報告会を3回開催し、また各個に、または数名のグル-プによる研究会を随時開いて研究を行った。高分子錯体には多種多様の構造が可能であり、それ故にまた多くの優れた機能発現に関係し、大きな関心を集めている。その応用例として、多様な分子素子への展開が期待される。分子素子発想の発端は、分子集合系としての生体組織に学び、生体機能のデバイス化を目標とした、分子工学的発想であった。生体機能の分子単位が生体高分子または生体高分子複合体であること、また最近における高分子化学、特に高分子錯体化学の著しい発展を考えるとき、分子素子または分子デバイス実現への途を、この高分子錯体科学の発展の中に求めることはまことに当を得たことと言える。近年の高分子錯体に関する研究を通じて一層明らかになった主要な研究成果の一つは、高分子錯体の機能特性の解析に当って、その電子過程の動的解析からする研究が極めて適切かつ有効であると言う重要な事実である。本研では、この視点をさらに一歩進めて、高分子錯体の基礎科学の確立のための新たな方法論として、電荷移動反応、すなわち電子または多電子移動、更にはこれらと共役したイオン移動を含めた電荷移動反応のダイナミックスの解明に重点を置く研究方法論、すなわち高分子錯体機能の本質を電子過程と分子過程の統合としての電荷移動反応制御の解明に求める方法が提起された。またその研究対象として、高分子クラスタ-錯体、高分子錯体複合系、高分子導体、及び生体機能高分子錯体に焦点を絞って研究を進めることの重要性が明らかになった。この様な視点にたって、「高分子錯体系における電荷移動反応制御の分子科学」を申請することになった。
