研究概要	本研究組織はヒト主要組織適合抗原複合体の構造、発現調節、生物学的機能および臓器移植における拒絶反応の機序を解析することにより集団遺伝学、進化遺伝学、免疫遺伝学、臨床遺伝学および臓器移植学の分野でHLAを総合的に研究するために編成され、補助金は以上の目的を達成するための会議費として使用された。2回の会議により、以下のような研究支援体制が整備された。(1)人類集団中に存在する、ほとんどすべてのHLAクラスII遺伝子に関するホモ接合体Bリンパ芽球様細胞株が全世界の研究室より収集され、これを必要とする研究者に供給する体制ができた。(2)HLA遺伝子およびこれをマウスL細胞に発現させたトランスフェクタントを全世界より収集し利用可能とした。(3)HLAアロ抗原に特異的な単クロ-ン抗体を収集し利用可能とした。(4)HLAトランスジェニックマウスを収集中である。この他、会議では、1991年国際組織適合性ワ-クショップの役割分担と相互間の連系について討議し、さらにHLA研究の最新情報および今後の研究方針について活発な討論を行った。
