不安定成層大気中の大規模渦構造の前線付近での挙動に関する流体力学的研究

研究概要

[目的]前線付近での高温湿潤気団の内部構造の急激な変化を風洞実験、野外観測から明らかにし、これを説明できる数値モデルとして、高次の乱流輸送方程式に基づいた数値モデルの構築を行う。
[室内実験]大型拡散風洞内床面上に、不安定成層状態の乱流境界層を形成させ、さらにその下流で下面を冷却して前線(温暖前線)を形成させ、その付近での不安定成層内部の乱流構造の変化を追跡した。さらに、この変化に伴って起きるトレ-サの拡散機構の変化を調べた。その結果、前線付近では乱流運動が活発化し、それに伴って乱流拡散も活発化し、さらに乱流構造自体が著しく変形することを示した。これは不安定成層内の大規模乱流渦が安定成層の上面をスリップする際に局所的に強い上昇流、下降流が形成されるためであることを示した。
[気流の数値モデル]乱流モデルとして、乱流エネルギ-(k)および乱流エネルギ-消散速度(ε)、温度変動強度およびそのディストラクション速度に対する4つの偏微分方程式と、運動量、熱の乱流フラックス方程式の局所平衡仮定から得られる代数方程式からなる、アルジェブライック・ストレスモデルを構築した。このモデルと従来モデル(混合距離理論、kーεモデル)を用いた数値シミュレ-ション結果の比較から、急変する気流の予測には混合距離理論はもはや適用できないこと、乱流構造の変化を含めた予測には本モデルが優れていることを示した。
[観測]前線付近の上昇、下降気流の測定法としてノンリフトバル-ンの追尾手法を確立した。一方、昭和62年度から平成元年度、九州北部を中心に酸性雨、ガス状、粒子状汚染物質の動態を観測した。昭和62ー63年度には集中豪雨観測と同時に行い、その一部を分担した。これにより、海上を渡る大気汚染の長距離輸送、火山起源のSO_2(その排出量は日本全域の人為排出量の1/2)およびHCIの変質、それによる酸性雨の生成過程を明らかにした。
