研究概要

(1)プラズマ・イオンプロセスによるFeSi_2系熱電材料開発を行い、次の結果を得た。O_2-イオン照射したアモルファスFeSi_2薄膜で熱起電力S〜6mV/K、電気伝導度σ〜1〜10Ω^<-1>cm^<-1>、Z〜10^<-3>(K^<-1>)を実現した。また、FeSi_2多結晶粉体をO_2-プラズマ(13.56MHz)中で処理したセラミックスで、Z-指数を約10倍増大できた。(松原)
(2)高電離イオン生成が可能なECRプラズマにより、β-ボロン、a-BCアモルファス薄膜を形成し、水素の添加により高温熱電半導体として有効性を示した。(権田)
(3)プラズマCVDによるa-Si系アモルファス薄膜形成を行い、a-Si:BPが1000℃の高温熱電材料として優れた熱電特性(Z〜10^<-3>/K)をもつことを示した。(木村)
(4)高温・超高圧(〜1200℃、3〜5GPa)の極限条件下で化合物合成について研究し、Li_<0.05>Co_<0.95>O焼結体でZ〜10^41/K(〜1000℃)を実現した。(島田)
(5)ポリ・カルボシラン(PCS)を原料としたCVDにより、多孔質微細構造をもつ炭化ケイ素(β-SiC)セラミックスを開発し、その熱電気的特性の評価から、高性能熱電材料としての有効性を示した。(河本)
(6)熱CVDによるカーボン基板上への(Ta_<0.7>Hf_<0.3>)Cの薄膜が、熱的安定性が高く熱電子放射特性の高いカソード電極となることを明らかにした。(矢田)
(7)アルカリ金属熱発電(AMTEC)の主要材料であるβ、β"-アルミナ焼結体の化学的構造安定性(耐食性)について研究し、密度、粒子サイズが大きいほど、また微量のマグネシア(MgO)の添加で大幅に改善できることを示した。(加藤)
