Through Space/Bond相互作用解析による機能性高分子のメカニズム解析

研究概要	本研究は、昭和62年度、63年度も公募研究として採用されており、本年度もその公募研究として採用されたものである。一昨年、昨年とつづいて、ポリアセチレンおよびその誘導体の電子状態を、強い結合の近似で計算して、そのエネルギ-帯構造を求めた。さらに、分子構造が、どのようにエネルギ-帯構造と関連するかをみるために、Through Space/Bond相互作用解析をおこなった。しかし、このポリアセチレンおよびその誘導体には、パイエルス不安定性による結合交替があるために、禁制帯が生じて、電気伝導性のよい高分子を得るのが、むづかしいことが知られている。そこで、本年は、この性質をうまく利用するためのド-パント系を考えた。すなわち、ポリアセチレンのフッ素あるいはヒドロキシ誘導体を考えて、これと種々のド-パント相互作用させた。そして、Beが、比較的禁制帯の巾を小さくすることをみい出した。このとき、HOMOのエネルギ-帯は、Beの2s軌道成分を多く含むことがわかった。また、LUMOは、ポリアセチレン主鎖の2pπ^*軌道のウエイトが大きいことがわかった。この系は、新しい温度センサ-、あるいはスイッチング素子になる可能性があることを指摘した。すなわち、絶対零度では、HOMOとLUMOのエネルギ-帯は、対称性が異なるために、BeのHOMOから、ポリアセチレンのLUMOへの電子移動が生じない。しかし温度が上昇すると、電子移動が生じ、ポリアセチレンが負に帯電して、パイエルス不安定性がおさえられる。この傾向が強くなると、結合交替の消滅によるLUMOバンドの下端が低くなり、BeのHOMOの上端と一致するようになる。この時、系は伝導体に転移するので、これを温度センサ-あるいはスイッチング素子に用いることができよう。
