研究概要

巨大惑星の起源と進化の研究は5つの研究課題のもとに進められた。本年度の研究成果は以下の通りである。
(i)巨大惑星生成にかかわる電磁プロセスの解明
a.巨大惑星で進行している電磁プロセスを、木星デカメータ電波をプローブとして探る観測が初年度に引き続いて継続された。リモート操作による観測パラメータ制御を行い、観測の効率化が計られた。また自転エネルギーの変換率が求められた。
b.巨大惑星の磁気圏共回転プラズマの不安定性解析のためのシミュレーションが着手され、シミュレーションが完成し、流出プラズマの振舞いが解明された。
(ii)巨大惑星の物質集中に関する起源の解明
a.原始太陽からのガスの流出に伴って不安定性が生じ、密度波が成長し、安定波となっていく過程を準線型理論で示した。次いでこの理論のモデル化が行われ2次元シミュレーションに着手した。シミュレーションのスキームを確立し、プラズマがボーデの法則を満たす点に集合することが明らかにされてきた。b.原始太陽系星雲の中で微惑星が、成長するプロセスの再検討が行われ、これをベースに惑星成長過程のシミュレーションが始められた。また原始太陽系星雲の差動回転ディスクモデルに基づくシミュレーションが行われ、不安定ディスク内での角運動量輸送が指摘された。
(iii)巨大惑星の構造
巨大惑星の内部構造を明らかにする目的で、圧縮金属水素の基底エネルギーを局所密度近似法(LDA)により理論的に定式化を行った。その結果、巨大惑星の水素の金属相転移相の問題の議論が可能となった。また高圧実験が実施されその対比も可能となった。
