研究概要	真核細胞の細胞複製を進行させるために必須な遺伝子群とそれらの間の作用順序を知り、複製機構を明らかにすることを目的とした。また真核生物の特有な減数分裂の機構を解析し、生殖や遺伝に貢献しようとした。成果の概要は以下のようである。 1)異種細胞の接触によって促進される細胞増殖に関与する蛋白とその受容体を明らかにした。Sl/Sl^tゲノム型マウスの骨髄と脾臓の細胞増殖変化と卵巣細胞成育停止に由来する不妊を発見し、体細胞複製と減数分裂の関連に緒をつけた。 2)核内のDNA複製起点の同定法を完成し、DNA複製誘導にチミジル酸合成酵素発現が作用する機構の解析を進展させた。 3)DNA反復配列部のメチル化とクロマチン凝集機構に関して作用因子の一つである遺伝子の発現機構が明らかとなった。遺伝子の単離と構造決定が完成し、調節の分子機構の全体像が明らかにされた。 4)染色体分配に働く85K蛋白の解析が進み、遺伝子構造と蛋白とアクチン並びにクロマチンへの結合様式が明るみに出た。 5)減数分裂誘導に働くmei2、mei3遺伝子のクローン化と構造解析が完了し、相同染色体の対合と交叉に関与すると考えられる遺伝子産物のクローン化が完了した。調節機構の解析が可能となった。マウス精子形成過程の減数分裂細胞に於て、DNA組換え酵素を3種類とDNAリガーゼ2種類を分離精製し、それら遺伝子の発現時期を明らかにした。 6)減数分裂誘導と体細胞分裂との関連、減数分裂中の遺伝子組換え(キアズマ形成)と体細胞複製中の遺伝子組換え(姉妹染色分体交換)の比較が進行した。これらの成果は細胞複製・細胞周期に関与する必要のもので、細胞増殖、分化、有性生殖を解析するための基礎として貢献するであろう。
