研究概要	本研究の目的は、情報としての光が光受容体に吸収された後、生理現象が発現されるまでの反応鎖を解明することである。シダ原糸体細胞における光屈性と偏光屈性は、原糸体亜先端部両側間におけるPfrの濃度の差によってその方向が制御されること、さらに、Pfrは急速にPrに変換された後再びPfrに変換されることが示唆された。また屈性誘導には細胞表層に存在する微小管の配向が、重要な役割を担っていることが明らかにとなった(和田)。イネ・フィトクロム遺伝子をタバコに導入した組換えタバコ植物体にはタバコ・フィトクロムの5倍量のイネ・フィトクロムが合成され、弱光下で下胚軸の伸長抑制に働いていることが示唆された(長谷)。エンドウ・フィトクロム遺伝子の上流域をβーグルクロニダーゼの遺伝子につなぎ、ペチュニアに導入、転写活性を調べた。その結果、フィトクロム遺伝子は暗黒中で明条件下での約50〜250倍の転写活性を持つことが分かった(米田)。クラミドモナスのカーボニックアンヒドラーゼの遺伝子を解析した。この酵素には2つの遺伝子(CAH1,CAH2)が存在し,タンデムに並んでいた。CAH1mRNAの誘導にはCO_2濃度の低下と光が必須である。一方CAH2mRNA量は極く微量であり、またCAH1の転写パターンとは逆であった(福沢)。紫外線UVーBによってアントシアン合成が誘導されるヤグルマギクのカルスを使用し、アントシアンが植物の紫外線による傷害の防護に役立っていることを明らかにした。UV-C、UV-BによるDNA損傷ピリミジンダイマーの生成がアントシアン合成に伴ない抑制された(大西)。脊椎動物視細胞のトランスデューシンのT_2サブユニットはRas蛋白質に共通なC末端アミノ酸配列を持ち、さらに疎水性分子によって修飾されていることが示唆された(秋野)。また明順応に伴なうカルシウム濃度低下がホスホジエステラーゼの活性に作用することが分かった(河村)。
