研究概要

研究実施に当たっては、各研究者が協力し、自家不和合性、胚発生、遠縁交雑の諸問題について研究を展開した。
カブの類の柱頭乳頭細胞の微細構造を検討し、この細胞は活発な分泌細胞であること、シグナルによるタンパク質分泌の可能性を示唆した(西沢)。そして、ニホンナシの柱頭組織も同様の特性を持っていることが明らかとなった。(中西)。さらにカブのS糖タンパク質の抗体を用いて、S糖タンパク質が細胞壁全体に分布していることを示した(西沢)。同じカブの材料を用いて、柱頭乳頭細胞には、アミノ酸配列の似た糖タンパク質(NS)があることを明らかにし、S糖タンパク質とNSタンパク質のクローニングに成功した(磯貝)。またS糖タンパク質と配列の類似するタンパク質が葯にも含まれていることを確かめ、その特性を検討中である(日向)。
イネを材料として、胚発生に関する単因子劣性の突然変異体を28系統作成しそれらの遺伝的相互関係を調査すると共に(佐藤光)、遺伝子の発現と胚発生の関係を検討した(長戸)。さらに、ニンジンの培養系を用いて、細胞表層に出現する57KD糖タンパク質が胚と胚乳の間隙に局在していることを明らかにした(佐藤忍)。ストレスによる不定胚形成能を有する細胞を獲得し、その細胞に特異的に出現するタンパク質を検出した(鎌田)。
タバコ野生種の交雑において、花柱を通った花粉管で受粉して雑種を得る方法を開発した。この雑種は28℃では枯死するが、36℃で生育する温度依存性の条件致死であることを示した(丸橋)。インゲンマメとライマメの雑種致死に関して、インゲン品種に雑種致死に至らない遺伝変異の存在を突き止め、その要因の解析を急いでいる(武田)。種間雑種はコムギの進化に重要な役割を演じてきたが、その際の非還元配偶子の発生について検討し、遺伝的、発生的傾向があることを明らかにした(阪本)。
