研究概要

本研究で実用化したい目標は3つの測定法である。即ち、本原虫は昆虫の体内で生存するエピマスチゴ-ト型、動物の血流中のトリポマスチゴ-ト型、および動物の細胞寄生型のアマスチゴ-ト型の3つに変態をする事が知られている。本研究費でエライザ分析器を購入したために、研究の能率化を計る事が出来て、研究が大いに進展した。即ち、
(1)エピマスチゴ-ト型原虫の測定法の研究:トリパノソ-マクルザイには、種々の系統の原虫が発見されている。我々の開発したエピマスチゴ-ト型の測定法は、5種類の系統のエピマスチゴ-ト型の原虫を共通して測定することに成功した。(2)トリポマスチゴ-ト型原虫の測定法(シャガス病の新診断法)の研究:トリポマスチゴ-ト型原虫の測定法はトラウエン系の原虫に特異的な測定法と、他の系統のトリポマスチゴ-トにも共通して測定できる改良測定法も開発した。後者の測定法は初めての実用的な新診断法として、シャガス病患者に使用できると期待される。(3)アマスチゴ-ト型の測定法の研究:アマスチゴ-トの測定法として、トラウエン系の原虫に応用できる測定法を開発した。本測定法を応用してマウスをシャガス病に感染させた際の種々の臓器での原虫の増殖状態を初めて正確に解析する事が出来た。以上、現在までに開発に成功した3つの測定法、エピマスチゴ-ト、トリポマスチゴ-ト、アマスチゴ-トの各測定法の開発研究は当初に計画した予定に従い、順調に進展した。当初は2年の計画で3つの測定法を順次開発する計画であったが、初年度で、ほぼ全ての方法が開発できた点では、予想以上の進展と言えよう。更に、開発したアマスチゴ-トの測定法はシャガス病のモデル感染動物での研究で、有用な手段である事が示された。
