研究概要	平成元年度に引続き、重点領域研究「大腸菌ゲノムの全体像」を効果的に進めるため、当初の研究実施計画に沿って大局的な見地から研究全体の遂行と総括を行なった。 (1) 第2回公開シンポジウムを平成2年12月20日京都で開催し、研究成果の討議と研究者間の交流を行なった。また同日第2回総括班会議を行ない、特に組織的なゲノム一次構造の決定プロジェクトの推進方策につき協議した。 (2) 第3回合同班会議を平成2年12月21,22の両日京都で行ない、情報交換と同時に本重点領域研究の趣旨に沿い組織的一次構造解析を進める具体的方策につき討議した。 (3) 上記会合のほか6回に亙り計画研究班代表者による班長会議を開き、研究推進策につき密接な協議を重ねたほか、大腸菌ゲノム関連国内研究者も含めDNAシ-ケンス解析を中心とするアンケ-ト調査を行なった。 (4) ゲノム構造解析法の改良と組織的シ-ケンス決定作業をさらに強力に進めるため、昨年度に続きDNAシ-ケンサ-を神戸大学に設置した。 (5) 企業研究機関にDNAシ-ケンス分析の一部を委託し、本年度は約20キロベ-スを解読した。 (6) ゲノム構造解析情報の効果的な検索・解析を促進するため、昨年度開発したコンピュ-タ-ソフトに改良を加え、各研究者に配布した。 (7)ゲノムDNA全体を綱羅する整列クロ-ンをメンブランフィルタ-に焼き付けた「遺伝子マッピング用フィルタ-」の改良版を業者委託により作成し、研究者に配布した。 (8) ゲノム全体像の把握を助けるため、ワ-クショップ「遺伝的組換えとその制御」および「DNA複製とその制御のメカニズム」を主催した。 (9) サ-キュラ-を発行し、研究者間の連絡の一助とした。
